A 28-year-old man who posted a picture of himself on the Internet that showed him speeding on a motorbike was tracked down by police and given a hefty fine three days later. The man, who is identified as D. M. , took a picture of his speedometer while he was driving his bike on a back road in northern Croatia. He put the picture, which showed that he was driving 100 mph, on the Web site of his local municipality.

President Bush offered the idea as a joke when he saw Slovak Prime Minister Mikulas Dzurinda's broken leg, who recently had surgery after suffering a fracture of his lower right leg.

A woman who made an anthrax threat to the Broward County, Florida property appraiser's office was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest and two-years probation Friday. Michelle Ledgister, a former National Institutes of Health employee, was also fined $1,000, in addition to the $2,200 in restitution she paid for the county's cost in responding to the threat.

U. S. Border Patrol agents are balking at wearing their uniforms, which bear the labels "Made in Mexico. " "It's embarrassing to be protecting the U. S. -Mexico border and be wearing a uniform made in Mexico," says T. J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council.
