Six Wild Elephants Electrocuted In India After Going On Beer Binge

Six elephants including three calves died in India's north-eastern state of Meghalaya after getting drunk on rice beer and running through a paddy field where they were electrocuted, officials and residents said Tuesday. The incident happened in the village of Chandan Nukat, about 250 kilometres west of Shillong, the state capital, on Sunday night.

Red Panda Fools Zoo Officials Twice To Escape Out

For the second time in less than a month, a 1-year-old red panda was discovered missing from her exhibit in Virginia's Zoo Saturday. Earlier in June 21, Yin went missing on the day of her first appearance for two hours until she emerged from a nearby tree. Yin, that resembles a raccoon with red, white and black fur, was first discovered near the bison exhibit, until she dashed to a tree near the back of the duck pond. She also was found hiding in a tree near the duck pond after she escaped the first time.

The black five-door sedan is being sold by the GoldenPalace. com, an online casino noted for buying unusual items. Nearly 70 bidders have thus far named their prices for the car with only a few hours left until the auction ends this afternoon. Photos of the car's registration list "Josef Cardinal Ratzinger" as the vehicle's original owner. Shortly before Benedict XVI became head of the Catholic Church, he reportedly sold the car in 1999 to an Italian man who did not know the car would soon become linked to the current Pope.

Orangutans Who Play Video Games At Atlanta Zoo

Two Sumatran orangutans from Zoo Atlanta are playing video games as researchers plan to study cognitive, memory, reasoning and learning abilities of these intelligent species. Zoo visitors are very curious to see four-year-old Bernas use his lips and feet to play a game on the touch-screen monitor. However, he is not as computer-friendly as his mom Madu who loves to spend time playing computer games.
