In a bid to preserve the species of the red haired, long armed apes, zookeepers in the Netherlands are planning Internet dates for orangutans. Zookeepers in Netherlands say the plan to hook up Dutch and Indonesian orangutans will test the compatibility between the two.

A Brazilian military spokesman says the National Navy and Air Force will transport at least 100 stranded penguins to Antarctica next month. The birds were found on Brazil's Rio de Janeiro beaches. Every year, penguins arrive from the Antarctic Circle on the Brazilian beaches. They are transported on ice blocks that melt off the shore of Brazil.

Spectators watched as a bear cub snacked on barbecue-chicken and jalapeno pizza in a parking lot on Sunday. According to press reports, the vehicle's owner stated that the cub also had a Jack Daniel's mixer, a beer and an Absolut vodka and tonic.

A bear cub wandering a Lake Tahoe neighborhood drew a crowd as it snacked on pizza, before washing it down with some alcohol while sitting at the back seat of a red Buick convertible. The bruin was unfazed by the car's horn that blew nonstop as the cub pressed the seat into the steering wheel, the AP reported.

Visitors are flocking to see a plant on display at the U. S. Botanic Garden whose scent is being compared to garbage and spoiled meet. During the few days it stays in bloom, the titan arum plant, nicknamed "corpse plant" for its rank smell, is attracting thousands of visitors.
