A climate change activist stuck his hand smeared with superglue on to the sleeve of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown during their meeting Tuesday to protest the government's expansion of the country's premier airport. Dan Glass, 24, and a member of the campaign group Plane Stupid, committed the stunt inside Brown's office at 10 Downing Street while receiving an award for campaigners from the prime minister.

A Daytona Beach, Fla. , police officer was fired for demanding free coffee from a Starbucks and threatening to respond slowly if employees didn't give him a free latte. Although Starbucks has a policy of giving police officers free regular coffee, it doesn't hand out specialty coffees without charge.

A woman found a suspicious package in her backyard here on Sunday. Police identified the package as a brand new hand grenade, belonging to the Canadian Army. According to Reuters, the woman called police after she found the package; she delivered it to the local police station where she was directed to carefully place it on the lawn.

A 16-year-old girl survived being struck by lightning and won lottery the following day. BreAnna Helsel was at her family's Blanchard home was watching thunderstorms on June 6. Rain was entering through an open kitchen window and just as she was about to close the window, she got hit by lightning.

A 92-year-old man has been barred from marrying a 17-year-old Egyptian girl. Even though the parents of the girl accepted the offer of the 92-year-old Arab man from a Gulf state, the ministry of justice stopped the marriage from taking place on the grounds of a law that prohibits marriages between people with age spans of 25 years or more.
