The Brazilian Health Ministry will hand out 25 million free condoms during the country's Carnival holidays in an effort to encourage safe sex. The government's anti-AIDS program will distribute the condoms at health clinics and in public squares and dances, reports Reuters.

The Broward Sheriff's Office says a passenger aboard a delayed Continental Airlines flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Newark became agitated, opened the door and jumped onto the tarmac. Troy Anthony Rigby, 28, ran toward the front of Flight 408 as it taxied to the runway at about 5:15 p. m. He banged on the cockpit door, the front door and the door in the food galley.
