A Chicago lawyer has reportedly been ordered to appear before a Miami bankruptcy judge to defend a Happy Meal comment he made to her during a hearing.

William Smith, who said, "I suggest with respect, Your Honor, that you're a few French fries short of a Happy Meal in terms of what's likely to take place" has been ordered by Judge Laurel Myerson Isicoff to appear before her June 25.

Crain's Chicago Business reported Wednesday that Smith would now convince the judge not to revoke his permission to practice in Miami after his May 7 comment.

According to Isicoff, Smith's comment represents "conduct that appears to be inconsistent with the requirements of professional conduct." Smith, who is representing Mount Sinai Medical Center of Greater Miami, is not licensed to practice in Florida.

However, she has been granted special permission for the case but now fears that Isicoff may revoke that permission.
