Reports out of New Zealand indicates that a determined goldfish named Nemo swept from a backyard pond swam for its life during a flood and survived, washed up away almost one mile away from the scene. "He had been taken away by that horrible brown water, and there he was, about 2km away, swimming in the debris and happy as can be," farmer Ab Oskam, told the Otago Daily Times.

In what is believed to be the first public execution in years, a Somali teenager stabbed his father's killer to death yesterday in a public execution ordered by an Islamic court. The accused, Omar Hussein, 45, had been convicted of killing Sheik Osman Moallim, a teacher, in the capital, Mogadishu, after a dispute over the education of his 16-year-old son.

The Easter Bunny will no longer be allowed in St. Paul's City Hall. According to the Associated Press, a toy rabbit, pastel-colored eggs and a sign with the words "Happy Easter" were removed from the lobby of the City Council offices, because of concerns they might offend non-Christians.
