The FBI, known for its hard nosed and clean cut crime-fighting image, considers relaxing its previous hiring policy for former drug users. Some senior FBI managers have been deeply frustrated that applicants, who acknowledged occasional marijuana use in college, had to be rejected. Even though in some cases many had performed top-secret work at other government agencies, such as the CIA or State Department.

A replica Viking ship made of 15 million ice-cream sticks is to be launched in Amsterdam on Tuesday. The Viking longship, which is 15 meters (about 49 feet) long and took Robert McDonald and two volunteers two years to build.

Australia - land of sun, sand and. . . a few surfing mice? Australian surfing enthusiast Shane Willmott is training three mice by the names of Harry, Chopsticks and Bunsen, to surf small waves on tiny mouse-size surf boards at beaches on Australia's Gold Coast. The mice are put through some tough training in a bathtub first and then have their fur dyed when it is time to hit the beach.
