An Ohio mother was convicted Friday of killing her baby by burning it to death in a microwave oven. She now may face the death penalty. China Arnold reportedly showed little emotion upon hearing the verdict, but put her head down and looked at the defense table.

A man dubbed the 'bling-bandit' for the flashy watch and ring he wore while robbing banks is now in custody, but he's not the usual suspect. The bling-bandit turned out to be Athelson Kelson, 59, a retired New York Police Department detective and a decorated Vietnam Veteran.

"Please kill me. " These were the only words muttered in court Tuesday by the man who stabbed to death a bus passenger in Manitoba before beheading the victim and eating his flesh. Vince Weiguang Li uttered the words after shaking his head in response to a judge's question if he wanted an attorney. The judge ordered another hearing on Friday.

The head of Ottawa's transportation commission, Alain Mercier, will meet soon with different commuter groups to address congestion problems on the national capital city's public buses. Rising fuel cost has lead more Ottawa residents to shift to public transport to go to work or school. To maximize space, some commuter groups have pushed for regulations on baby strollers, which take up space on public buses. One proposal is to require proper folding and stashing of the strollers inside the bus.

A study by psychiatrists at the Erlangen University, in collaboration with researchers from the University of North Dakota, linked shopping addiction to an intense craving for attention. One in 10 consumers from wealthy western nations have varying degrees of shopping addiction, according to Martina de Zwaan, head of the Erlangen University's Department of Psychotherapy.
