Dead Wife Is Alive, Husband Sues Hospital

A man from Georgetown, Delaware has sued the Beebe Medical Center (BMC) in Lewes and its staff for allegedly wrongly declaring his wife dead in May last year. In the suit, Louis Johnson also charged that the hospital failed to provide adequate medical care and was negligent in treating her 61-year-old wife, Judith, from her heart attack on May 6, 2007. He sought an unspecified amount of damages and penalty.

A 33-year-old aspiring chef from Edlington, England died after eating super-hot chili sauce as part of an endurance challenge with a friend. Fork-lift driver Andrew Lee, who dreamed of becoming a chef, was challenged by his girlfriend's brother to see who could eat the spiciest sauce that he could prepared.

Jordan's Queen Rania has urged her country's people to stick to a healthy eating regime during Ramadan, an Islamic holy month where eating between dawn and sunset is forbidden. The queen is concerned that people are tending to overeat after sunset because they have deprived themselves of food during the day, and is backing the government media campaign to encourage people to steer clear of heavy, rich meals in the evening.

Sicily Mayor Offers One-Euro Houses

To bring life back to the historic part of Sicily, Salemi Mayor Vittorio Sgarbi offered old properties for only one euro. Sgarbi explained to Corriere della Sera, "In exchange for the token payment of one euro ($1. 44) we will offer them one of these houses and ask that they undertake to restore them within two years while respecting their original characteristics. "

Study Finds It Possible To Be Fat And Fit

It is possible to be fat and fit at the same time, a surprising new study has revealed. In the first national study of its kind, researchers found that at least half of overweight adults, and close to a third of obese men and women, have normal blood pressure, cholesterol and other measures of heart health. Researchers from the University of Michigan also found that close to a quarter of U. S. adults in the recommended-weight range had risk factors for heart disease or diabetes. That means some 16 million of them are at risk for heart problems, the study said.
