A heroic cat helped its owner escape a fire that erupted in his Clearwater Fla. mobile home, but could not make itself out of the flames.

According to investigators, the cat woke its owner at the Capri Mobile Home Park, and alerted him to the flames engulfing the home around 3 a.m. Monday.

The St. Petersburg Times reported the fire severely charred two homes, and another sustained lighter damage. No one was hurt.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting the mobile home residents after they were rendered homeless by the blaze.
