The Philippine Supreme Court rebuked a regional trial court judge in Caloocan City, north of the capital Manila, for using "disrespectful language" in her court documents filed before the high tribunal. Judge Adoracion Angeles was also warned by the SC that she faces serious sanctions if she does not stop this egregious practice.

Court records showed Angeles filed several complaints against Senior State Prosecutor Emmanuel Velasco in retaliation for the 10 administrative charges filed by Velasco against her for alleged gross ignorance of the law, manifest impartiality and bad faith.

However, she described Velasco as "trapped in his own gullibility," "like a cry baby begging for attention," in the pleadings she filed before the SC. Angeles adds that "even the greatest of crooks can easily make disguises. Even wolves can dress in sheep's clothing."

But the high court did not find the words of Angeles "angelic" and reminded her to stop.

"Wherefore, we reprimand respondent Adoracion Angeles, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Caloocan City Branch 121 for her use of intemperate language in her pleadings. Respondent is sternly warned that a repetition of the same or similar act shall merit a more severe sanction," the high court warned.

"The use of disrespectful language in her pleadings is certainly below the standard expected of an officer of the court. The esteemed position of a magistrate of the law demands temperance, patience and courtesy both in conduct and in language," the high court said.
