Much like dog whistles, a new invention can only be heard by children and teenagers, says its Welsh creator.
The device, called the "Mosquito", is designed to drive rowdy teens away by emitting a high-pitched ultrasonic sound that cannot be hear by most people over 30.
Inventor Howard Stapleton says the device drove away noisy teens from a grocery store in Barry and a shop in Merthyr Tydfil, reports Reuters. "All I'm getting is pats on the back," Stapleton told Reuters. "No bricks thrown at me yet."
The "Mosquito" has gained Stapleton a lot of media attention. He has already appeared on British TV and radio. He has also gotten interest from Australia, the United States and Canada.
