An 18-year-old California woman, who was apparently under intense pressure from her family to get into a good school but could not get admission, decided to make her wish come true by faking it.

The woman, who is known as Azia Khan to fellow students, not only posed as a Stanford University student for a month but she also lived in dorms, ate in dining halls and pretended to worry about exams. Khan in reality graduated in 2006 from Troy High School in Orange County.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, the woman also maintained a Web page where she told her family and friends about the trials of freshman year. The newspaper quotes her April entry on the page as saying, "Exactly 68 days left until SUUUMER BREAK ... and my freshman experience is OVER!!!."

The matter came into light on Monday after a resident adviser checked to see if Khan was actually assigned to the dorm where she said she was living. After the revelation, Khan was quickly ordered to leave campus.
