A gang of six Romanians was arrested for stealing laptops and cellular phones in a high-speed robbery on Germany's autobahn.
The Associated Press said the police were tipped off about the unusual robberies from a driver who witnessed the stunt a couple of weeks ago. In a stake out, police witnessed the robberies first hand.
Police told reporters that the thieves would pull up to the back of a truck that was transporting electronics, then, with their headlights off, would pull up closely to the back of the truck while one of the passengers climbed onto the hood of their car and cut the lock on the truck. After opening the truck's back door, the thief would pass laptops and cell phones back to the others riding in the car, all the while balancing on the hood.
Another member of the gang drove a different vehicle, which would block the left lane so passerby's couldn't get close.
According to reports, the driver was unaware of the robberies because he could not see the thieves cars since their headlights were off.
So far, The Telegraph said, none of the six arrested will tell police anything, but they are suspected of at least two of these types of robberies.
