"Dangerous" Elephant Kills Handler

An elephant killed a female handler Friday at The Elephant Sanctuary in southern Tennesse. Winkie, the elephant, has a history of being dangerous as she has injured several other handlers in the past. Spokesperson for the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Center Doug Markham said Winkie kicked or stepped on the woman and injured a male handler who tried to help his co-worker. The woman died "on the spot," Markham adds.

Minor Leaguers Play For 26 Innings

In what was one of the longest games in the history of professional baseball, the Oneonta Tigers beat the Brooklyn Cyclones, 6-1, in 26 innings in a New York-Penn League game Thursday night. Deik Scram hit a run-scoring single in the 26th inning to give the Class A Tigers the lead. They tacked on four more runs to ensure victory in the marathon game that took 6 hours, 40 minutes to finish. It was the was longest New York-Penn League game ever played.

Reports say the record drought which has hit eastern Australia is forcing women to leave the countryside and head to the cities, with fewer and fewer women for the farmers to date or marry.

Saudi Prince's Aspen Home Set For A Record $135 Million Sale

Saudi Prince Bandar has set his 56,000 square-foot mansion on a record sale of $135 million. If the Prince is able to find a buyer the purchase will be the costliest in U. S. real estate history. Real estate agent Joshua Saslove says in a statement to the Aspen Times and the Aspen Daily News that Bandar's mountaintop hideaway has 15 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms, a racquetball court, an indoor pool, and other outdoor water features. Saslove says the getaway is up for sale because the prince's been too busy to enjoy his palace.

MOMA Denies It Bought A Fake

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (MOMA) renounces claims that a painting purchased for $45 million is a phony. The painting is reportedly the most expensive one purchased by the museum to this date. The museum released a statement that they had "no reason to doubt" the authenticity of Madonna and Child. The artwork is attributed to medieval artist Duccio.
