Talk about going directly to jail. Melissa Chavez thought she would be in the clear when she flagged down a Santa Fe police officer. Little did she know, the officer would drive her right to county jail. When the 26 year-old was picked up, the officer who stopped conducted a run of her rap sheet, which showed an outstanding warrant (for failure to comply with provisions of a prior criminal property damage charge). The officer escorted Chavez straight to the Santa Fe County lock-up, where she was booked, with bond set at $500. |
