The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is recommending the voluntary teaching of sexuality education, including masturbation and aphrodisiacs, starting at age five to prevent HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.

The recommendation is contained in the UNESCO report called "International Guidelines for Sexuality Education" released in June at the 19th World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) Congress held in Göteborg, Sweden.

The Portsmouth Regional Hospital released a statement that officials there regret the incident occurred and there is an ongoing investigation to find out how the error happened.

Medical research from Johns Hopkins University of more than 3,000 men in Uganda found that those who are circumcised have a significantly lower risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease.

Specifically, the researchers said that circumcised men had a 25-percent lower risk of catching herpes and a 35-percent lower risk of contracting the human pappilomavirus.

Patients getting a colonoscopy at the Miami Veterans Affairs Healthcare System over the last five years may have been exposed to hepatitis and HIV because of unsanitized equipment used during the procedures.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs sent letters out to more than 3,000 people this week who may have had a colonoscopy with the tainted equipment between 2004 and 2009. The tubing for the scopes were rinsed but not disinfected, CNN reported.
