A bell ringer for the Salvation Army was caught shoplifting Christmas ornaments, all the while singing "The First Noel. " Sean M. Sayers, 33, who was arrested by police on Wednesday, was reportedly on his break from working outside a Wal-Mart.

City officials recently decided that the decorated tree in the Capital Rotunda will be known as the Wisconsin State Christmas Tree, and not a holiday tree. The 8-1 ruling by the Assembly State Affairs Committee was made in response to a proposal by a state lawmaker, calling for the tree to be known as a Christmas tree, and not a "holiday tree", for which it has been known since 1985.

Frosty, a inflatable snowman used for years to greet customers at a Tyler, Texas tree farm was stolen. The animated decoration was reportedly worth $10,000. Royce Wisenbaker, owner of the Dixon Farms, presumed that the thieves hoisted the snowman over the fence, right after dismantling it and folding it up.

An explosion at an allegedly illegal fireworks workshop in southern Guangxi Zhuang, China has claimed three lives and critically injured 13 others. The incident occurred on Saturday while workers were rushing to keep up with the increasing demand for fireworks in preparation for the upcoming holiday season. The fatalities included the mother of the shop owner, while those injured were all local villagers employed in the factory.
