Popular Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan was the first choice of voters in a Muslim province in southern Philippines, having bested all his 'competitors' in a mock election held Tuesday using computerized machines. The Commission on Elections on Tuesday conducted a mock elections for the August 11 elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, a autonomous province comprised mostly of Muslims in southern Philippines to test-run the new automated poll machines.

The blog that caught the attention of Silicon Valley CEOs is calling it quits. 'Fake Steve Jobs' is moving onto a new job and Hollywood. The blog, "The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs" is shutting down after its author said he no longer wanted to make fun of the controversial CEO of Apple. Daniel Lyons, a former Fortune magazine editor, said he's heading to Newsweek and will be blogging under his own name.

Good finds in the city are high-quality silk, jewelry, and traditional crafts for a reasonable amount of money. Buenos Aires in Argentina is cited for its low cost leather products. Denmark's Copenhagen is among the top five for its wide-range of merchandise especially home accessories and glassware such as Holmegaard and Royal Copenhagen Porcelain.

A map obtained by police from a convicted burglar led to the discovery of buried treasure near the Ronald Reagan Freeway in Los Angeles. The unearthed treasure was a collection of antique watches, necklaces, and diamond rings, including a canary diamond ring suspected to be worth $400,000. Authorities Tuesday followed the directions on a map taken from Robert Caveda, who was imprisoned on December 18 for several charges including residential burglary. The map, police said, was hand-sketched, and had an "X" marking the area where the treasure was buried.

Using improvised props and set design, a group of friends has transformed their garage into a film studio to recreate two Star Wars films. The group used household objects as scenery, toys as props and PC wizardry to recreate the special effects to produce spoof of two Star Wars movies, calling them The Empire Strikes Backyard and Star Wars - The Emperor's New Clones.
