Councilman James S. Oddo of Staten Island, New York has proposed a plan to put pigeons on contraceptives, to counter the growing number of the pigeon population at the Island terminals. The contraceptive will be seen as a solution for the growing concern regarding pigeon droppings, and maggots falling from ceiling, after feeding on pigeon feces.

Protesters Burn Effigies Of Richard Gere After He Kisses Indian Actress Repeatedly

Protesters in India were outraged when Hollywood actor Richard Gere repeatedly kissed popular Indian actress Shilpa Shetty at an AIDS awareness campaign in New Delhi, India. Calling the act as anti-Indian, leaders from many religious groups burned effigies of both the actors in various Indian cities, raised anti-Gere slogans and also demanded that Gere should apologize for his act. Local television channels repeatedly showed footage of Gere sweeping the much elated Shetty backwards in an embrace after he starts planting kisses on the actress.

Judge In Anna Nicole Smith Trial Caught Smoking Pot

A Broward County judge, who ruled over a paternity trial last month involving Anna Nicole Smith, was caught smoking a joint in a Hollywood park Sunday. Judge Lawrence Korda, who has served on the bench since the 1970s, was caught smoking marijuana under a tree near Interstate 95. Police said the smell of cannabis, lead them to Korda.

Man In Chewbacca Suit Arrested For Aggressive Head-Butting

A street performer dressed as Chewbacca was arrested Thursday after butting a tour guide operator in the head in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, according to police. The tour guide said the man in the Chewbacca costume exploded after he asked him to stop bothering two Japanese tourists. The man in the costume, 44-year-old Frederick Evan Young, is one of many street performers who flock to Grauman's Chinese Theater to entertain tourists. Last year the city passed an ordinance to prevent incidents like the one Young is involved in after tourists complained performers would get aggressive and abusive if they didn't pay for pictures.

World's Oldest Person Dies At 115

The world's oldest person at the age of 115, Emiliano Mercado del Toro, has died after suffering from fever and breathing problems in his Puerto Rico home. Del Toro also nicknamed "Don Emiliano," was suppose to turn 116 this August but had seemed to lose the will to live, according to family.
