A S. C. City Councilman says parents who can't properly care for their children should be sterilized. Larry Shirley made the comment after a hold-up at a Hollywood Video Store. "We pick up stray animals and spay them," Larry Shirley said in a story published Saturday by The Post and Courier of Charleston. "These mothers need to be spayed if they can't take care of theirs. Once they have a child and it's running the street, to let them continue to have children is totally unacceptable. "

Instead of a witty punch line, authorities in St. Johns County got to sort out a lawn brawl that sent one man to the hospital. The brawl occurred after a lawn service supervisor criticized one of his worker's grass-cutting skills, according to The Florida Times-Union.

A group in Los Angeles wants to buy billboard space on Sunset Boulevard so they can put up a sign of Mel Gibson's face with the international sign for "no" over it in red, according to MSNBC's The Scoop. But the group's leader, publicist Andy Behrman, says billboard companies keep turning them down. Behrman told The Scoop, "We wanted to make a statement that anti-Semitism is not okay in Hollywood - or anywhere else. They tell us it will be fine, and then when they learn we want to protest Mel Gibson, there's suddenly some problem. "

Hollywood action movie hero Chuck Norris is currently leading the race in an online vote to pick a name for a new bridge in the Hungarian city of Budapest. If he wins the vote, the bridge will be named "Chuck Norris Bridge. " On Tuesday morning, the Hollywood actor has already received 8,725 votes. The figures represent 11 percent of the entire votes.
