Honesty is the best policy for one New York City taxi driver. Chowdhury Osman, a Bangladesh native, returned a bag carrying 31 diamond rings to the passenger who had mistakenly forgot it in his cab.

Osman told the Daily News that he never even thought of keeping the gems. He said that he wouldn't take another person's property or money to get rich

Osman drove the anonymous woman from the Hilton New York to an East 35th Street apartment. For a $10.75 fare, she tipped him 30 cents. But that didn't stop Osman to make his most honest efforts to track down the lady who has been identified by the paper only as a jeweler.

After a flurry of phone calls, Osman was able to reach her and returned her lost bag. The woman offered Osman a $100 reward, which he accepted to make up for the fares he lost from tracking her down.

Osman says: "When I find something left in my cab, and I can return it to the owner, I feel very happy. I feel proud."
