A 15-year-old boy doing a paving job here Friday after accidentally being buried by hot asphalt that suddenly unloaded from a truck. Co-workers failed to dig the boy's body out of the heated asphalt and burned their hands in the process. Firefighters who came to the scene on Quarry Road took 14 minutes to recover the dead boy.

A 4-year-old boy died Saturday after being left in a vehicle for nearly three hours while his mother was getting her nails done for her wedding later that day. Reports say that the mother, Mirlande Jean-Baptiste's, 29, likely did not know the child was in her Ford Explorer, as she and her sister dropped off some children with relatives before going to their 9 a. m. appointments.

Canadians are trying to convince a seafood market in Shediac to free a 100-year-old lobster caught early this month in the Bay of Fundy. The 22-pound male crustacean, christened Big Dee Dee, is on display at the Big Fish market.

Six-time champion Takeru Kobayashi had to swallow his pride as well as frankfurters Friday when he failed to topple Joey Chestnut as the reigning hot dog-eating champ. Chestnut retained the title he won in last year's hot dog eating contest by gulping down five dogs in an eat-off. He beat out 20 other contestants in the Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest held in the Coney Island section of this New York borough.

A 60-year-old man is pleading for help from doctors because he says he thinks he's turning into a woman. Terry Wright, father of five, claims he started losing his hair and beard 10 years ago, and over time his skin has softened, his breasts have grown and he continues to experience hot flashes.
