Several states are now working on bans against allowing sex offenders. The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors in California, as one example, is planning to draft an ordinance that would prohibit convicted sex predators from driving ice cream trucks after one was found last summer in Perris.

Police in Jacksonville, Florida were called when a restaurant worker spotted a burglar who was trapped in an air vent while apparently trying to climb down. The suspect was found with his leg dangling from a slot directly above the restaurant's grill, which was smothered with hot oil. Upon seeing the hanging limb, Mandarin restaurant manager Richard Angers alerted the owner, Rana Escamilla, who called the authorities.

Heir to the British throne Prince William is once again in hot water for allegedly landing a $20-million military helicopter at a garden in Bucklebury, Berkshire -- the family estate of his girlfriend Kate Middleton, British press reported Monday. The Daily Mail reported that Royal Air Force Chief Marshal Glenn Torpy "erupted with rage" after finding out that Prince William landed the Chinook helicopter assigned to him during a training flight on his girlfriend's yard.

A Florida woman was arrested by police Friday after reports revealed that she stabbed her husband during a fight that centered around the subject of having hot dogs for dinner that night. The woman, 28-year old Alfreda Van Bladel from Orange County, reportedly stabber her husband Anton with a steak knife, after he snatched from her hands a plate of hot dogs she had prepared.

A couple who moved into a house in Spoleto three years ago are now threatening to file a lawsuit against the former owners, who according to them did not mention that the house was haunted. The couple, Gaetano and Stefania Bastianelli, said that the house that they paid €120,000 (US$190,000) for at first seemed like a bargain deal, with all the furniture and even the kitchenware left over.
