Passengers in a small small plane sustained minor injuries after the crashing in someone's front yard shortly after taking off. Then, the family of three called a taxi to take them to the hospital. The pilot, Paul Kaemmerling, his wife Kim and their 14-year-old daughter from Liberty, Texas were all on board the plane when it either lost power or hadn't gained enough altitude, investigators told a local NBC affiliate.

A man was fatally stabbed Thursday night after an altercation arose in a drug deal in which crack-cocaine was traded for steaks. Brothers Gerald and William Gillespie reportedly showed up at their drug dealers house hours after the deal was made. They thought they'd been short changed in the deal, and wanted more crack, or money, or some of the $117 worth of steaks back.

A janitor at the Ottawa-Carlton District School board won the top prize in the July 16 Lotto 6/49. Kevin Frost, 39, picked up his $7. 379 million check Thursday. Being persistent finally paid off for Frost, who has been betting on the lottery since he was 18. Frost said he plans use his winnings to pay his mortgage, buy a house and travel to Scotland to play golf.

At least 5,000 residents were evacuated here after a British World War II bomb was found Tuesday afternoon at a construction site west of the capital city. Bomb experts said the bomb was found in a garden at a house during construction in western Wilmersdorf district.

A Pakistani man from Jonesboro, Georgia has been charged with murder for strangling his daughter to death to protect his family's honor. Chaudhry Rashid, 56, is suspected of killing Sandeela Kanwal, 25, on Sunday because the daughter wanted to end her marriage to a Pakistani in Chicago, the suspect's African-American wife, Gina, told police.
