California housewife Susan Polk was found guilty of second-degree murder for the stabbing death of her wealthy psychologist husband.

The defendant acted as her own lawyer throughout the dramatic 14-week trial.

Polk, 48, will face 16 years to life in prison.

She was 14 when she met Felix Polk, who was her therapist, they then married 10 years later.

According to CourtTV, during the trial, jurors heard bizarre testimony from the defendant about psychics, secret agents and the daily physical abuse Polk claimed to have endured during a relationship that spanned three decades.

Prosecutors alleged Polk killed her husband at the end of a contentious divorce when she realized she was on the losing side. Felix Polk claimed to have called police and friends before his death expressing fear that his wife would harm him.

Two of her three sons testified against her. Adam Polk, 23 called his mother "bonkers," "cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs" and "the embodiment of evil."

While Gabriel Polk, 19, said that his mother discussed drugging Felix and throwing him in the pool, hitting him with her car, or shooting him.
