Feds Receive More Than $3 Quadrillion Bill From Katrina Victims

The Army Corps of Engineers has received more than $3 quadrillion in bills from victims of the 2005 Hurricane Katrina. Although about 489,000 people have filed damage claims, one filed from an area nearly a 100 miles from the hurricane's center is causing jaws to drop. A resident of Baker, La. is demanding the U. S. government pay $3 quadrillion. Last year, the nation produced $13. 2 trillion of goods and services. According to the AP, a stack of $3 quadrillion worth of pennies would stretch to Saturn.

Scared Of Florida Hurricanes, Little Girl Decides To Go Back To Ohio On Bicycle

The hurricane season in Florida scared an 8-year-old child to such an extent that she decided to go back to Ohio where she moved from, on her bicycle. When the girl Heather Snoke was not found for long found at her home in Deland, Fla. , her parents got worried and notified the police in the evening. According to police reports, the girl's father John Snoke drove around the neighborhood looking for his daughter but did not find her.

Miami Beach To Outsource Sand From Foreign Beaches

Officials from Miami Beach, Florida are exploring ways to outsource new sand from foreign beaches after the usual methods of replenishing the beaches has dried up. New beaches from where sand could be exported include the shores of Dominican Republic, the Turks and Caicos Islands and Mexico, the Christian Science Monitor reported Wednesday.

Brian Rems, a Galaxy Aviation executive who was unable to get plane tickets for his family at any price as Hurricane Wilma bore down on the state, has launched a new program called "HelpJet" to ferry up to 1,000 people to locations such as Atlanta, Charlotte and Nashville ahead of future storms.
