A dog's carcass is to blame for a massive sewage back up in Provo, Utah authorities say. Authorities blamed the back-up on the dead dog stuffed down a sewer manhole and then opened a criminal investigation about the incident. They found the dog's owner from an identifying chip implanted in it. The owner says the dog has been missing.

A 7-year-old second grader is doing what any kid could do to aid in a major disaster such as Hurricane Katrina. Dan Noonan-Day has set a lemonade stand near his home to raise money for the victims of Mississippi, Alabama, and New Orleans. One of his customers, Carole Wilkinson, paid a dollar for her drink, saying every penny makes a difference.

Hilary Duff pledges to contribute $250,000 to help Hurricane Katrina victims on the Gulf Coast. A statement issued by publicist Cece Yorke says the 17-year-old singer-actress will donate $200,000 to the American Red Cross and $50,000 to USA Harvest, which is providing food to shelters.

Self-funded program, CrisisShield, has begun construction to rebuild the Grenada area effected by Hurricane Ivan, 10 months ago. Since Hurricane Ivan's ripped through Grenada, CrisisShield has been setting up the framework to begin building houses for those left homeless.
