Brian Rems, a Galaxy Aviation executive who was unable to get plane tickets for his family at any price as Hurricane Wilma bore down on the state, has launched a new program called "HelpJet" to ferry up to 1,000 people to locations such as Atlanta, Charlotte and Nashville ahead of future storms.

Annie Bazoon-Singleton stumbles upon her wedding dress in the rubble left by Hurricane Katrina on the day of her first wedding anniversary. Like many others, the home of newlyweds Annie Bazoon-Singleton and Rivers Singleton were devastated by the disaster last year, which washed away much of their possessions. Singleton was rummaging in the only house left standing on her street. She then spotted a fabric flower through the pulled-up flooring. The flower was fastened to the cocktail dress she wore to her wedding.

Poll: Floridians Not Prepared For Hurricane Season

You'd think they would have learned by now. Hurricane season is just a few weeks away, and a large number of Florida residents said they have not started preparing yet. A new Mason-Dixon poll finds 46 percent of people polled said they're basically ready now. Twenty-two percent said they would wait until a hurricane watch is issued, and 21 percent said they would wait until a hurricane warning is issued.
