An 8-year-old little girl with a compassionate heart and very loose tooth found a creative way to help people displaced by the hurricanes. Briton Nordmeyer of Brandon, South Dakota mailed her tooth to the Red Cross chapter in Sioux Falls, in hopes the tooth fairy would leave money with the charity instead of under her pillow.

Self-funded program, CrisisShield, has begun construction to rebuild the Grenada area effected by Hurricane Ivan, 10 months ago. Since Hurricane Ivan's ripped through Grenada, CrisisShield has been setting up the framework to begin building houses for those left homeless.

Some doctors are attributing a recent baby boom in Florida to the three hurricanes that hit the Sunshine State last summer. One health official says there are more than twice the number of parents-to-be in her birthing class and another says she has 51 expectant mothers due this month and 43 more due in June, up from an average of about 30 per month.
