A 48-year-old man was arrested Monday morning after he repeatedly rammed his pickup truck into his estranged wife's home, causing serious damages to another parked vehicle and the house itself. Eric D. Marienau was arrested without incident and was charged with aggravated assault, drunken driving, and other felony charges.
According to police, Marienau parked his full-size Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck next to his wife's house, went over to the fence and began shouting for her to bring him a cigarette.
When she didn't respond, he began pounding on the front door and threatened to ram the garage door.
Caroline Marienau, who said she's in the process of getting a divorce, told police that Eric returned and actually rammed the front of the house, crashing through the garage. The incident pushed a truck parked inside the garage through a bedroom wall, roughly four feet inside the home, she said, according to Bonner County Daily Bee reports.
No one was hurt in the episode, but according to a witness the feat could have proved fatal for both Eric and the residents of the house. Eric had a can of gas with a gas-soaked rag in the bed of his truck and an additional can of gas in the front seat of his vehicle.
According to police, Marienau has a long history of criminal record, including charges of reckless driving and drug trafficking. He once even shot himself in the head in 1977.
