An Illinois man is cycling his way into the record books. George Hood is trying to become the world record holder for the longest stationary bike ride.
The Drug Enforcement Administration supervisor is also raising money for the Illinois chapter of COPS, an organization that helps the families of slain police officers.
Hood has a previous 82 hour record to beat that was set last year by a Denmark man. Hood started riding Wednesday morning and is still going. He's taken a few power naps and is on a mostly liquid protein diet. He's allowed a five-minute break for every hour of cycling.
Saturday night is his deadline to complete the feat that he hopes will earn him a place in the Guinness Book of World records.
