Postcards featuring Britain's late Princess Diana have been banned from royal palace shops. Buckingham Palace and other royal residences have stopped the sale of postcards bearing Diana's image in line with their rule dictating that only cards featuring current members of the royal family should be sold. The move comes despite predictions that the postcards of Diana - who was killed in a tragic Paris car crash on August 31, 1997 - would be hugely popular as the country approaches the 10th anniversary of her death.

We all know that dogs wag their tails to express happiness, but a new Italian study now suggests that dogs show pleasure by wagging their tails more towards the right, while negative feelings get a left-swaying wag. An Italian neuroscientist at the University of Trieste, Dr. Giorgio Vallortigara, and two veterinarians from the University of Bari, Marcello Siniscalchi and Angelo Quaranta, closely watched 30 caged family pets of mixed breeds over 25 days, performing 10 tests per day.

In a yet another effort to upgrade the city's image before the 2008 Olympic Games, authorities in Beijing have barred women cabbies to not to dye their hair red and their male counterparts from growing their hair long. The bans on the city's taxi drivers are a part wider effort by the authorities who perceive the Olympic Games as an opportunity to display splendid Chinese culture and its residents' positive attitudes. In the recent effort, authorities have listed out as many as 12 not-to-do's for the city's cabbies. These include: greeting passengers without politeness, avoid smoking, spitting, wearing heavy and jewelry and brushing teeth after eating garlic among others.

The officials in Changyuan County in central China's Henan province have now made new rules for employee promotions. Apart from evaluating a worker on the basis of his or her hard work in the office, the employer will also consider how a particular worker treats his parents. Assessment teams plan to interview officials' family members, friends, neighbors, colleagues, subordinates as well as members of the public to judge their character and give them appraisal. Most importantly, they will judge a worker on the bases of his behavior towards his parents.
