Wonder kid Budhia Singh on Tuesday entered the Limca Book of Records by covering a 65 km distance from Puri to Bhubaneswar in seven hours.
The four-year old is supposedly the first person to cover such a distance at this young age. Hoards of mediapersons reportedly accompanied Budhia in his marathon run. After arriving in Bhubaneswar, he was taken to the local hospital for a thorough medical check-up.
His coach, Biranchi Das, told The Hindustan Times newspaper that Budhia started his sprint at 4.07 am after taking the blessings of Lord Jagannath and arrived at Bhubaneswar in about seven hours and two minutes.
Das and his wife had adopted Budhia, after rescuing him from a slum and helped him become a running sensation. Budhia had been sold to them for a paltry sum of INR 800 by his impoverished mother. The boy became a celebrity after his non-stop 60-km run between Puri and Bhubaneswar last year. He runs at least 20km every day, covering 45km twice a week.
Considering that a full marathon is 42 kms, his is an unparallel achievement.
