A pageant queen at a local Indiana fair has her crown and title stripped amid claims her aunt rigged the contest. Sarah Rice, 18, was stripped of her title by the Fountain County 4-H Council, who named her queen Saturday. Grievances filed claim runner-up Jordan Snoddy had more points. Irene Norman, who tallied the judges' scores, said the results she submitted placed Snoddy in first. Before the results were announced, they passed through several hands, including those of Nyanne Applegate, Rice's aunt and the pageant director. Applegate says she did not mishandle the results, but that in queen pageants, the winner is left up to the judges' discretion. |
