In a bid to promote HIV-AIDS awareness in the city, a government agency in the north Indian city of Chandigarh has opened a "Condom Bar" where instead of small change for bills, patrons are given packs of condoms.

Standing true to its name, the bar has a condom logo featured on everything inside from the glasses used for serving drinks, interior decoration and waiters' uniforms.

Several souvenirs with the logo also are available in the country's first "Condom Bar" which aims to make people, especially youngsters, aware of AIDS and highlight the need for safe sex.

According to the BBC, the idea has been conceived by the government-owned Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Corporation to spread awareness and to involve people in "what could fast become the country's biggest problem."

This non-profit bar cum discotheque has an array of display of catchy messages such as "Enjoy safely" and "Don't just get on. Get it on! Protect yourself, protect others." And keeping sync with the latest development, the bar also offers free supplies of the new female version of condoms.
