A prisoner in Australia didn't dig, or bust his way out of prison. He made his escape by losing so much weight, he was able to squeeze though a hole he made in a brick wall.
Reuters reports Robert Cole was in the Sydney jail for stealing and assault. He lost around 30-pounds so he could slip through the hole next to a window in the hospital of the maximum security prison.
The 36-year-old climbed a barbed wire fence before walking along a prison wall. He then jumped to his freedom. No guards were manning the wall overnight, only surveillance cameras and sensors.
New South Wales state Corrective Services deputy commissioner Ian McLean says Cole deliberately lost weight so he could squeeze through the crack in the wall.
