Prison guards at Suffolk County jail in Long Island, New York, were shocked to find a cloth-stuffed dummy in the room of an inmate during a random search. However, their fears were immediately put to rest when the inmate was found working in another area inside the jail.
Wayne Leibold, 41, will now face disciplinary action. Officials suspect that it was quite possible that Leibold was planning to escape from the prison but his plans failed when jail authorities located him three minutes after discovering of the dummy. The officials searching Leibold's cell actually tried to wake the dummy up. The AP reports that Leibold was not charged with a crime or violation as his motive for planting the dummy was not immediately clear.
Leibold is serving a 270-day sentence for DWI and is scheduled to be released in 30 days.
