The prisoners at the Scott City Jail in Missouri invented a new method to cover up a hole in a prison cell when they used pancake batter and toothpaste.

The inmates reportedly used this new method to cover a hole they made to allow a female inmate to slide into the next cell and join a male inmate. They first removed a block from the wall, after making a digging tool with a nail. They also used a wire from a light fixture and a toothbrush as their other tools.

According to AP reports, the mixture of pancake batter and toothpaste that was discovered this weekend looked like mortar.

To prevent any such attempts by inmates in the future, the jail authorities have now added steel plates to the Missouri jail's interior walls. The city jail's exterior walls already are reinforced with steel to prevent inmates from escaping.
