A suspected murder victim has been found to have committed suicide in an elaborate attempt to make his death look unintentional. Police who initially thought Thomas Hickman, 55, was murdered in New Mexico, after he was found duct taped and shot in the back of head. But now police say the Red Lobster executive re-enacted an episode of CBS's show "CSI" in which a man tied helium balloons to the gun he used to kill himself with so that the gun would float away, leading crime scene investigators to believe a murder was committed.

Two Elderly Women Sentenced To Life In Prison After Killing Homeless Men For Insurance Money

Two women in their 70s were sentenced to life imprisonment in Los Angeles Superior Court Tuesday for killing two homeless men to collect the victims' $2. 8 million life insurance money. Helen Golay, 77, and Olga Rutterschmidt, 75, received the sentence from Judge David Wesley. A jury convicted the septuagenarians dubbed the "Black Widows" in April for running over Paul Vados, 73, in 1999 and Kenneth McDavid, 50, in 2005.

A 76-year-old Georgia grandmother jailed in North Carolina is headed to court there on Monday to answer charges of soliciting a hit man to kill her fourth husband on the 22nd anniversary of the day he was found shot to death at their home. Betty Neumar's trial Monday is a statutory hearing on probable cause to continue prosecuting her on charges alleging she solicited murder.

MP Opposes Ontario Funding Of Sex Change Surgery

MP Pierre Poilievre of Nepean-Carleton threatened on Monday to block Ontario's funding of sex change surgeries under the province's health insurance system. "People are waiting too long for basic cancer treatment and MRIs and the Liberal government found money for the (Dalton) McGuinty sex change program instead," Polievere told the Ottawa Sun.
