After months of letters back and forth, an insurance company has finally paid out $10,000 to a man who hit a hole-in-one during a golf tournament. Matt Santangelo made the lucky shot during a tournament sponsored by the Main Street Deland Association, for which the prize was $10,000.

A judge dismissed a Rhode Island man's claim over a penile implant that caused him to have an erection for 10 years. The implant manufacturer asked the court to dismiss a judgment that gave Charles "Chick" Lennon $400,000. Superior Court Judge Edward C. Clifton granted the request, which would amount to $1 million with interest.

Frenchman Serge Girard on Tuesday completed an epic 260-day run from Paris to Tokyo, making him the sole runner to have raced the distance across all continents. The 52-year-old insurance worker also breaks the previous world record of the longest journey without a full day of rest. Girard was greeted by a small crowd and his three children, when he arrived at a hotel in Tokyo. He ran about 45 miles a day, guided by satellite through the Global Positioning System, to complete the 11,840 miles journey in over eight months. Girard set off his marathon from Paris on December 18.
