A Charles City police officer has filed a lawsuit against the world's largest fast food company McDonald's for the "Super-Troopers" chicken sandwich he was served at one of its affiliates two years ago. According to Josh Douglas, the incident happened two years back when he and another fellow officer went to an area McDonald's to grab a quick dinner and instead he was served a chicken sandwich with phlegm used as sauce.

"It was a loogie. Runny, stringy, slimy snotty loogie and it was stuck between the lettuce and tomato and you pick it up and it all kind of stays together," Douglas described the filling of the sandwich to KIMT News 3.com.

However, by luck, not being fond of vegetables Douglas removed the toppings and discovered what turned out to be a prank played by two teenage chefs at the restaurant.

Although the boys later apologized to Douglas for the misdeed, saying they imitated a prank in the 2001 comedy "Super Troopers" in which a state trooper orders a burger and the cook spits on it.

Whatsoever be the outcome of the case, one thing is for sure that Douglas will always check his sandwich before a bite.

"Absolutely, absolutely. No matter what town I'm in, everything gets checked," Douglas said.
