A 54-year-old man was arrested under domestic violence statues for hitting his wife with an onion. James Izzolena, of Des Moines was drunk when he became upset with his wife, Nicole Izzolena, 27. In a fit of anger, Izzolena said he threw an onion at her head during an argument on Wednesday.

Izzolena, who is charged with domestic assault causing injury, said he didn't mean to hit her. Now branded a domesic violence offender, Izzolena will never be allowed to carry a firearm.
