Police Arrest Seven For Bracelet Fraud Health Scheme In Japan

Police arrested seven people on Tuesday for selling metal bracelets they falsely claimed said improved blood flow. According to Japan Today, among those arrested were the 60-year-old president of a Tokyo-based health appliances company selling the bracelets and his six former employees.

Woman Jumps To Death From Tokyo Department Store, Knocks Bystander Unconscious

A woman died after jumping from the rooftop of a department store in Tokyo. A passer-by was knocked unconscious after breaking the woman's fall, authorities said Tuesday. Local Police Spokesman Tetsuhiko Kanehara said they responded immediately to the scene after phone-calls from other passers-by, finding the man and woman collapsed and bleeding on the street infront of the Ikebukuro Parco Department Store in Tokyo's Toshima-ku at around 1 p. m. on Tuesday.

Group Urges Aussies To Flood Burma Embassy With Panties

A pro-democracy group based in Thailand has urged Australians to join a campaign it dubbed as "Panty Power" and flood Myanmar's embassy in Canberra with undergarments. The Lanna Action for Burma, a group based in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai, said in a statement, "The Burma military regime is not only brutal but very superstitious. They believe that contact with a woman's panties or sarong can rob them of their power. "

Postcard Reaches Recipient After 64 Years

A Japanese soldier from World War II stationed in Burma (now Myanmar), sent a postcard to his friend was received after 64 years after it was sent. The postcard was kept by a former U. S. soldier and a Japanese exchange student. According to Mukogawa Women's University, the card traveled in three different countries and one state, including Burma, Nagasaki, Arizona and Hawaii before reaching Shizuo Nagano, 80, in southern Kochi prefecture.
