A bank in Japan finds a great way to bring in more customers - give away free money.
Banks in the country have long fought for new customers. Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank Ltd says since it announced that customers can win money by playing a roulette game at its ATMs, they have seen a surge in new accounts.
A spokesman for the bank, which is based in Gifu prefecture, central Japan says, "Using ATMs is impersonal and lacks communication. We wanted to add some fun."
According to Reuters, a roulette wheel pops onto the screen of automatic teller machines when customers finish transferring funds. If the customer gets a lucky spin, he or she wins $8.50.
Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank says, "Our customers enjoy it very much."
