A 32-year-old mother was charged with attempted murder after dropping her 10-month old son from the 6th floor corridor outside their apartment Sunday night.

Jinichi Otani was found by neighbors, who immediately called an ambulance. The baby was found lying near the building, and remains unconscious with a broken neck at a nearby hospital.

Jinichi's mother, Kaoru Otani, allegedly told the police that she was simply too stressed from caring for her baby.

Otani lives with her husband and Jinichi. They just came from an outing Sunday when she says she felt a sudden impulse to throw the baby off the 6th floor. She accompanied the baby in the hospital, where she was arrested by the police.
