A 17-year-old Japanese high school student turned himself over to authorities along with the head of who he claims to be his mother. The teen admitted to killing his mother while she was sleeping during the eve of her 47th birthday.

The Japanese teenager brought the police to his house located in Aizuwakamatsu city and showed a beheaded body in his apartment. He added, "It didn't matter who I killed."

China's top government spokesman, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuhisa Shiozaki, said, "If it's true, then it is horrendous."

The police have only begun investigating the case.

According to experts, dismemberment cases have been increasing in the country due to alienation and a tendency to objectify human beings.

"There have been a high number of incidents involving dismembered bodies and I certainly think there is a chain reaction going on," said Susumu Oda, an expert in criminal psychology at Tezukayamagakuin University.
