Singaporean authorities have given a blogger a stern warning but refused to send him to jail for mocking Jesus Christ on the Internet. Police said Thursday, "After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, in consultation with attorney-general's chamber, we have decided to issue a stern warning to the offender in lieu of prosecution. "

After learning last month that he had been found not guilty of abusing his son, Junior Stowers raised his hands and exclaimed, "Thank you, Jesus!" in court. However, Stowers was found to be in contempt of court for the outburst and Circuit Judge Patrick Border threw him in jail for it.

A federal court rules Friday that a student's free speech rights were violated after he was suspended for holding a banner reading "Bong Hits 4 Jesus," across from the school. Juneau-Douglas High School in Alaska disciplined Joseph Frederick for unfurling the banner, which refers to marijuana, in Jan. 2002.
