Dethroned beauty queen Carrie Prejean is threatening to sue Miss California USA pageant if they would not clear her tarnished name.
The 22-year-old ex-Miss California USA's lawyer sent a letter to the lawyer of pageant boss Keith Lewis, telling the other camp to recant all their alleged defamation against Prejean, or else they would sue.
The pageant, who ousted Prejean from her beauty queen position earlier this month, accused her of breaching her contract obligations, including skipping pageant-scheduled events and attending those that weren't approved by the organization.
The letter indicated that because of Prejean's unfavorable stance against gay marriage, the pageant connived to expel her from her position. Her camp also claims that she never missed an event scheduled by the organization and never attended those without their approval.
According to Charles S. LiMandri, Prejean's lawyer, his client only turned down events from the Hollywood News Calendar, an itinerary of on-goings around tinsel town which are mostly non-exclusive and open to the public, as those events were not invitations to her.
The pageant also did not have the right to release her confidential medical information, in which they paid for her breast augmentation surgery.
The letter did not address pageant co-owner Donald Trump's comment to TMZ, saying that Prejean treated him respectfully but she treated the others "like s***."
Lewis responds in a statement given to TMZ, saying, "Mr. Limandri obviously has never watched 'The Apprentice' if he believes that Mr. Trump could be so easily fooled. Facts are facts and we stand by them. No matter what strong wind the General Council of NOM will blow, Our vest of truth will stay on."
